If you would like to access your e-mail by using
a web browser anywhere you have access to the internet, please follow the
instructions below:
Using
Webmail
Enter the following web address into your web browser:
www.mydomain.com/webmail. In general, it's just the address of your
website with the "/webmail" after it.
When you enter Webmail, you will get a box that will ask you for your
username and password. In Webmail, your User name is your
e-mail address (for example: john@mydomain.com) and your Password
is the password that was assigned to you. Enter your username and password,
then click OK.
After you sign in, you will have a choice of using 2 different Webmail
products. Use the one that you are most comfortable with.
- Horde is a more
comprehensive, full featured system that has more options for using
calendar, tasks notes, etc. Use this if you want more than just simple
e-mail access.
- SquirrelMail is a very
simple e-mail system. We would recommend using this if you simply want
to use e-mail only.
There are many options that
you can customize as well as help systems for both of these systems, so if
you really want to use these regularly, please be sure to look them over and
customize them to your liking.
Be sure to either Sign out or Log out of the Webmail
system for security.
Other things you can do with Webmail
When you first sign in to web mail by using www.mydomain.com/webmail,
you will see some other options you can use if you wish.
- Change Password
- here you can change your password to whatever you
want. However, be careful to make sure that if you use Outlook or Outlook
express, you will need to change your account setting to reflect the new
password.
Forwarding options - if you want
to forward a copy of all messages that come in to another e-mail address,
enter that e-mail address here. This could be used if you are away and want
someone else to get e-mails that come to you. Keep in mind, you will still
have a copy in your inbox, so use this option with care.
AutoResponder Options - Use this
option if you want to automatically respond to e-mail messages that come to
you. This is good for use when you are on vacation to let people know this.
In the From, enter your name, in the Subject, put something like Out of
Office. In the Body, enter the message you want to let people know you are
away. Note: be sure to delete this AutoResponder when you come back.
Boxtrapper & Aging - recommend
you do not play around with this for now. These options are disabled.
